Real Estate Stories - Knowledge is Power. Listening is Divine.

Many of us hear but don’t often listen. There is a big difference between the two.

Listening requires our attention, undistracted. Whereas hearing is much more passive.

We like to listen at Nuuka, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

One of the key values our software service brings to a building is our 24/7 monitoring and diagnostics. When Nuuka Solutions is connected to a building automation system (cooling, heating, lightning, etc.,) it automatically monitors these systems 24/7. Our service listens to your building and pays attention so that it can identify problems in these systems, and with our alarm function we can automatically alert a building manager via text messages etc., if there is a problem that needs addressing.

How do we know if there is a problem?

Variations in energy demand and consumption from individual devices installed in buildings (or connected to them) communicate a lot about the efficiency of a building. Our software knows the language of your building systems and can listen to the demand for energy change, or for consumption to increase for no apparent reason.

As an example: if one particular freezer suddenly starts using 20% more energy than other similar freezers in a grocery store (or than it did in the last hour), it is most likely a sign of error in the thermostat or somewhere else. Now, if this freezer is full of Christmas turkeys, a grocery store owner or building manager would want to make sure that those turkeys don't spoil because of a freezer malfunction. Nuuka listens for changes like this and acts to avoid CTL (Catastrophic Turkey Losses).

As you can guess, a building owner is usually happy to pay for such a service because these losses happen all the time.

The same 24/7 monitoring and diagnostics can inform an office building owner or manager if there is a lot of water usage in the middle of the night, long after the building users have gone home. This typically means a water leakage in one of the pipes, toilets or somewhere else. Especially in larger residential and shopping malls, such losses can add up over time and building managers can have some pretty severe costs to deal.

The bottom line is that you need to listen to your building. Luckily, Nuuka speaks its language.
